AI Tone Personalization

You can configure the AI's persona in the dashboard Settings. Options include Formal, Casual, Persuasive, Urgent, and Friendly. This dynamically adjusts the system prompts behind the scenes, ensuring the AI behaves exactly as a star employee would at your specific establishment.

Guardrails (Filtering)

To prevent the AI from recommending cheap items when a customer is already spending a lot, you can set a Minimum Price Threshold. Any product in your synced catalog that falls below this price will be completely excluded from the AI's context window.

Additionally, you can configure Excluded Categories. If you never want alcoholic beverages recommended to certain checkout flows, you can block them globally.

A/B Testing Cashier Phrases

To optimize conversion rates and lower latency, Modest POS pulls the cashier_phrase from a pool of active phrases stored in your database rather than generating it on the fly.

You can write multiple variations (e.g., "Any sides today?" vs "Would you like to try our new dessert?"). The system will rotate through these active phrases and track which one leads to higher upsell conversions.
